EXPECT ALL THINGS FROM GOD Cont’d

Touching Lives Devotional

Psalm 62:5 KJV
My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him.

HOW TO WAIT UPON GOD FOR YOUR EXPECTATIONS:

1. Trust in Him wholeheartedly.

Proverbs 3:5 KJV
Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

Your heart’s condition,  your physical appearance, and your utterances in trying times, depict your faith or unbelief. The faithful man casts his burdens upon the Lord and waits for Him, but a faithless man caries his on his head and shoulders, and the weight of them shrinks his appearance!

Trust is tested in trying times, not in good times. Anyone can claim to or show trust in good times! Read Hebrew 11 for faith stories!

2. Acknowledge/consult Him in all your goings. Seek Him every day and time.

Proverbs 3:6-7 KJV
In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. [7] Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil.

When you expect all things from God, you’ll definitely ask His input and directions before making any decision.

The heart of man is very deceitful! You should never leave your life and business to the intents of your heart unless you’ve been totally transformed by the word and Spirit of God! See Romans 12:1,2

Someone once said, “no matter how tall you are, you cannot see tomorrow”. Yeah, it’s true. Only God knows today and tomorrow. Let Him guide you by asking for His will and way always in all things spiritual and physical!

3. Honour Him with your substances. Give for the work of God to be expanded.

Proverbs 3:9 KJV
Honour the Lord with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase:

Yes! This is where most of the confusions and strivings of unbelievers and carnal Christians centers! What they fail to realize is that love is incomplete without giving. How do you show your love to your partner, friends, children, neighbors without giving; whether physical or spiritual things? Everyone has something to give!!

I know that God does not eat rice, fufu, banku, neither does He use money physically as we do. But get this clear, God has chosen men(women included) to advance His kingdom on earth, and every building and conquest requires money and resources! Count it a privilege to be a part of His work!
God says:

Zechariah 1:17 KJV
Cry yet, saying, Thus saith the Lord of hosts; My cities through prosperity shall yet be spread abroad; and the Lord shall yet comfort Zion, and shall yet choose Jerusalem.

This is the way it has been and will be after you, until the age comes to an end!

Let me open your eyes to the reason God blesses men.

In Exodus chapter 3:21, God promised to favour the Israelites in Egypt and fulfilled that in Exodus 12:35-36. Amazing right? But guess what; those blessings were to be used to serve Him, not for the people to serve them(idolatry)! He requested the blessings for the building of His house. See Exodus 25. A lot of people died when they made idols out of those blessings God gave in Egypt! See Exodus 32.

Whatever your challenges are now, is a setup for God to be glorified. God wants to bless you through your situations, but and if only you’ll trust Him, seek Him, honour/serve Him with your substances, and wait on Him wholeheartedly! See Exodus 3:21

The Lord says to you:

Isaiah 41:10 KJV
Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

Jeremiah 33:3 KJV
Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.

God bless you. May the Lord give you understanding!

Confessions:
My expectation is in God and I look unto Him for all things! My path is directed by the Lord because I seek His face and wait on Him. I have sufficient supply of all good things pertaining to life and Godliness because I’m entitled to them through redemption! I have answers to all my prayers, desires, requests; I receive all that I ask for, and far above them, because I ask in faith! The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places. Opportunities are all around me everyday and everywhere I go, in the name of Jesus Christ. Hallelujah!!
Pray in the Spirit now!!
Have a blessed day ☀️🌞

PENTECOST DAY

Blessings, beloved🌞☀️

Acts 2:1-4 KJV
And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. [2] And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. [3] And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. [4] And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Just reflect and pray for empowerment to effectively testify of Jesus! Remain blessed

EXPECT ALL THINGS FROM GOD, Cont’d

Touching Lives Devotional

Blessed day, beloved 🌞

Psalm 62:5 KJV
My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him.

Trust in the LORD always with all your heart and wait upon him alone!

WHY BE EXPECTANT TO RECEIVE FROM GOD:

1. God is the Creator of all things and all good things come from Him.

Genesis 1:1 KJV
In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

Genesis 1:27 KJV
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

James 1:17 KJV
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.

Yes! He created All things including you and All good things comes from Him!!!

2. Expectation qualifies you to receive from God.

Hebrews 11:6 KJV
But without faith it is impossible to please him : for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

The kingdom of God functions by faith. And faith not only believes, but speaks what it believes. See 2Cor 4:13

For faith to work effectively, confession must be made with the mouth and believing must be done with the heart. See Romans 10:10

Matthew 7:7 KJV
Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:

Asking and believing does the work!

3. God has a plan for you.

Jeremiah 29:11 KJV
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

There’s an expected end for your life and destiny written in the will of God for you to manifest in your life. He took into consideration your strengths and weaknesses, limitations, skin color, location, height, appearance, and everything concerning you.

God has no plans of destroying you without remedy! He’s patiently waiting for you to turn to Him in faith and follow Him.

Isaiah 55:7 KJV
Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.

He knows where you are in your journey and desires to take you to where you should be, but not without teaching you His ways.
See Psa 139; Job 22:21-30.

4. The ways of men are directed by the LORD.

Proverbs 16:9 KJV
A man’s heart deviseth his way: but the Lord directeth his steps.

Even though God blessed you with the ability to think and plan your ways, He’s the one who directs your path. This is one of the mysteries of God: the secret of directed path. But this is only possible when you commit your plans to Him and trust in Him wholeheartedly (expectantly).

Proverbs 3:5-6 KJV
Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. [6] In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

The Bible says the ways of men lead to death and destruction. See Pro 14:12; 16:25.

5. The heart of all men, great and small, are in the hands of the LORD and he directs it where he wants.

Proverbs 21:1 KJV
The king’s heart is in the hand of the Lord, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will.

Expect all things from God and not men! When you go to God in prayers and faith, He will most definitely use men to bless you, but not the other way round!

Men are selfish by nature; only the grace of God can cause men to focus on others!

Expect all good things from God when you ask, seek, and knock in prayers through Christ Jesus. See Matt 7:7-11! This is the key!

Blind Bartimaeus received his sight when he looked to the Master in expectation. Mark 10:46-52

Confessions:
My expectation is in God and I look unto Him for all things! I have sufficient supply of all good things pertaining to life and Godliness because I’m entitled to them through redemption! EXPECT ALL THINGS FROM GOD

Touching Lives Devotional

Psalm 62:5 KJV
My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him.

Who do you trust? God or men? The object of your trust determines the level of your expectation! If God, how much do you expect from Him? God is able to give you exceeding and abundant supply far above all that you ask of Him. But you must ask, firstly. And secondly, you must believe that you’ve received what you ask for!

High Expectations from man is a recipe for frustration and chaos!Your direction of focus is the cause of your frustration or celebration! When you wait on God, you’ll celebrate; but when you look to men, you’ll be frustrated!

God says you are cursed when you put your trust in man and depend on man for deliverance, especially unbelievers!

Jeremiah 17:5 KJV
Thus saith the Lord ; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the Lord.

Why? Man is God’s creature; he can perish! And man is corrupted in his heart through selfishness even in righteousness; he can lie, forget, disappoint, deceive, and molest you!

Any man who makes flesh his arm of strength shall not see any good around him! What a pity to live in a place with opportunities but you’re unable to see them/seize them: Coz you’re always looking up to man instead of God!! See Jeremiah 17:6

But the one who trusts and waits on God alone is blessed.

Jeremiah 17:7 KJV
Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is.

There’s no limit to the expectations, and provisions for them all, of a man who trusts in God! He’s continuously flourishing in all seasons. See Jeremiah 17:8; Psa 1:1-3.

God blesses us through men, and not the other way round! The hearts of all men and their ways are in God’s hands; He can cause men anywhere and everywhere to be restless until they bless you. Why not seek the giver rather than the given?

You must expect all good things from God when you ask, seek, and knock in prayers through Christ Jesus. This is the key!

Matthew 7:7-8 KJV
Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: [8] For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

They say good things come to those who wait on God, but better things come to who pray while waiting.

God can give you far above your desires and needs, but you must do it according to His will and way. Trust Him and expect more of all that you ask from Him.

Mark 11:22,24 KJV
And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. [24] Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

Confessions:
My expectation is in God and I look unto Him for all things! I have sufficient supply of all good things pertaining to life and Godliness because I’m entitled to them through redemption! DEVOTION – Part 2 Cont’d.

Touching Lives Devotional

WHY WE MUST BE DEVOTED/COMMITTED TO THE CHURCH

6. You freely invest in what you’re devoted to.

Matthew 6:21 KJV
For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

This is very much true. When you’re committed to a cause or person, you freely invest in it/them. Is it difficult to support your family? Does it burden you to do that? The answer is no!

Similarly, when you’re devoted to the Church of God, investing your time, talents, and treasures becomes very much easy! Uncommitted Christians struggle with giving at all dimensions; whether it be their time, talents, and treasures!

But interestingly, this struggle shows that their loyalty and devotion are to other causes rather than God. What you’re not giving to God is surely been given to other causes!

Your level of commitment is rising!

7. You will have a family to celebrate your successes.

Luke 1:58 KJV
And her neighbours and her cousins heard how the Lord had shewed great mercy upon her; and they rejoiced with her.

Another very important benefit of devotion to the Church of God is that you’ll always have a large family that rejoices and mourns with you throughout this life!

The Church of God is instructed to be with a brother or sister in all circumstances of life.

Romans 12:15 KJV
Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep.

Whether we like it or not, whether we prepare for them or not, life’s changing seasons makes us need each other the more. What a blessing to have your local Church standing by your side at all times!

Your Marriage, new born babies, new homes, businesses, jobs, promotion, birthday, anniversary, and all other happy days and as well as sad days will never be boring again as you dedicate yourself to the Church of God!

It may not look like it now, but beloved, better days are ahead.
The Lord will soon turn your captivities around and you will need people to celebrate with you. See Psalm 126

Never forget this: joy shared, is doubled joy; sorrow shared, is half sorrow.

8. You will see the fruits of your labour.

Galatians 6:9 KJV
And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

Commitment to God yields fruits in this present life and the life to come!

We are urged to dispose of all weariness in our affections to the Church of God and the works of God. One of these well doings is devotion. No tree bear fruit the day it was planted; neither does it do so after one week! It takes time to grow and to bear fruits; stay planted!

Psalm 126:5 KJV
They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.

Sadly though, many people leave the Church at the eve of their reaping season after the season of sowing.

Many people feel cheated, frustrated by delays, deceived, and forsaken by God and their pastors and slack in their commitment or eventually leave the Church without knowing that their time was just about to begin! Relax beloved; your labour in God is not in vain! God will reward you in His time.

1 Corinthians 15:58 KJV
Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

Receive staying power now!

Ask yourself this question and provide a sincere answer. What’s my level of devotion to God and His Church currently? Has it increased or decreased?

God bless you!!!

Confessions:
I am planted by the rivers of water which is God’s Spirit that causes me to constantly be fruitful in all endeavours of my life! I flourish in God’s court because I’m planted and rooted in Him and His Church! From today, I receive power to dedicate my time, talents, and treasures to the work of God. No power shall separate me from the Church of God anymore! Glory!!! Pray in the Spirit now!!
God bless you….

DEVOTION – Part 2

Touching Lives Devotional

WHY WE MUST BE DEVOTED/COMMITTED TO THE CHURCH:

To be committed to God is to be dedicated to His Church- the body of Christ. Your devotion to God is expressed through your labours in the Church of God.

Below are few reasons for you to be devoted to the Church of God:

1. You are part of a family.

Ephesians 3:15 KJV
Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named,

The beauty and strength of a family is it’s unity! Also, no one changes his family forever even if he/she changes surname. When you cut off yourself from your family by absence and neglect, it has some serious implications. You have a role to play in your family that none can fit in. It is your devotion to the family that will progress it.

Similarly, when you were saved, you became a part of God’s family that comprises both heavenly and earthly members. Your devotion is key to the progress of the family on earth- the Church. Corporate fellowship is strongly encouraged by God for our building up or maturity.

Hebrews 10:25 KJV
Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together…

A family that prays together, stays together!

2. You are part of God’s building.

1 Corinthians 3:9 KJV
For we are labourers together with God: ye are God’s husbandry, ye are God’s building.

The Church of God is the building of God. Individually, everyone is a specific important part of the building that must not be removed inorder to keep it standing. Some people are blocks, why some are pillars, and others are beams and timbers. Together, every part is relevant; even the smallest parts.

Removing the pillars will cause the building to most likely collapse. Why should you break down the Church of God by your selfish ambition?

No one builds a house by removing blocks from an already habitable house to complete his or hers. Similarly, don’t allow anyone to remove you from the building you’re part of just to chip you into what you’re not to fit into his own building! May the Lord give you understanding. Stay with your family; your devotion is important!

3. You are part of God’s garden.

Isaiah 5:5 KJV
And now go to; I will tell you what I will do to my vineyard:…

You must be devoted the the Church of God because you’re a tree planted in God’s garden. The Church of God is His garden.

You’re a plant! Planting and replanting kills plants. Planting and replanting stops plants from growing into full trees. Stay one place and grow please!

4. You are a part of a tree.

John 15:5 KJV
I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

You must be devoted to the Church of God because you’re a branch on a tree which is Jesus Christ! I’ve not seen a tree branch that is standing alone and growing!

It is the branch that bears fruit, but only by being connected and feeding from the vine! You can do nothing as an individual Christian without full devotion to God’s Church. The Church is God’s idea, not yours. Stay planted that you may grow and bear fruits!!!

5. You will flourish.

Psalm 92:13 KJV
Those that be planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish in the courts of our God.

Yes! It is committed people in the Church that flourishes! Don’t misunderstand me; everyone has a season of sowing and reaping. You may be in your sowing season now, but don’t be weary because it has taken longer time; you’ll reap in due season if you stay connected.

All you need to do now are outlined in Psa 1:1-3; Joshua 1:8. God bless you!!! To be continued…

Confessions:
I am a building of God not made with hands. The Spirit of God lives in me, therefore I’m quickened by Him to flourish and bear much fruits. I am planted by the rivers of water which is God’s Spirit that causes me to constantly be fruitful in all endeavours of my life! I’m a child of God almighty purchased by the blood of His dear son for Himself. I am a healthy branch overflowing with fruits being produced in me by the Holy Ghost! Glory!!! Pray in the Spirit now!!
God bless you….

DEVOTION Cont’d.

Touching Lives Devotional

Acts 2:42 KJV
And they continued stedfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.

What is Devotion?
The state of being devoted; addiction; eager inclination; strong attachment love or affection; zeal; especially, feelings toward God appropriately expressed by acts of worship; devoutness.

Consecration; devoutness; religiousness; piety; attachment; devotedness; ardor; earnestness.

WHY MUST I BE DEVOTED TO GOD?

We can know we’re devoted to God by being devoted to His word.

3. Devotion to God’s word enables us to prove God’s good, acceptable, and perfect will.

Romans 12:2 KJV
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

God has good thoughts for all of His children, including you. See Jeremiah 29:11

Just as every nation has a constitution binding on it’s inhabitants, so is the Bible, God’s constitution, binding on those who have been translated from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of light. Within the Bible, are God’s plans for you; and to fulfill them, you must devote yourself to His word and it’s practice. See Joshua 1:8

The difficulty of giving ourselves to the Lord fully is the major hindrance to our fulfilling God’s will for us. The word of God will continue to be irrelevant to you until you give yourself to Him fully. See Romans 12:1; 2Cor 8:5

4. Devotion is the platform for achievement/accomplishment.

1 Timothy 4:15 KJV
Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all.

Everyone who has achieved success in any endeavour knows this one secret rule! Athletes, scientists, lawyers, academicians, Bible scholars, etc, all do practice this rule of devotion to whatever they’re learning or doing to become good at it. You don’t become a soccer star by practicing once a week or month.

Your quality of production is determined by your level of devotion. God told Joshua to meditate in the scriptures day and night and then observe to do all that is written and he’ll prosper and have good success. Joshua did that and God did His part! Hallelujah!!!

The results of Devotion are seen and felt, and not heard. See 1Thes 1:5,9. Give yourself wholly to God and His word, and your results will be undeniable!

5. Fellowship and growth are sponsored by devotion.

1 Peter 2:2 KJV
As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:

To fellowship means to share common space, belief, qualification; like-mindedness.
The word of God is the closest and surest way to fellowship with God. Prayers, worship, praise, thanksgiving, waiting on God, are all rooted on and situated in the word of God; it is from the word that we pray, praise, and thank God. It is there that we learn how those ahead of us fellowshipped with God: praised thanked, worship, and honoured Him.

Just as no baby grows without food( breast milk and other baby foods), similarly, no Christian grows or become spiritually matured without the word of God! Just as our bodies are nourished by physical foods, so is our spirit by spiritual food; the word of God. To go for 6 days without spending quality time in God’s word is an attempted suicide!

Confessions:
I am purchased by the blood of Jesus; therefore I belong to God! I receive grace to to be transformed into God’s child. My level of commitment to God is becoming unquestionable! I am producing righteousness because God’s word is at work in me. I am God’s epistle to the world; so therefore, lives are changed by and through my life. I walk in in love, light, and the very life of God beams in and through me. Hallelujah!!
Pray in the Spirit now!!
God bless you….
